Rifle and Muzzleloader Elk

Arizona offers some of the best elk hunting in the world. You will see a lot of elk regardless of the type of hunt you draw. There are big bulls in every unit. 300" bulls are common and bulls in the 350"+ class, are taken every year.

Muzzleloader elk usually runs the first week of October, which is the peak of the rutting period. Hunts are rotated periodically between the units to ensure sufficient amounts of trophy bulls.

Rifle elk starts in mid to late November. This is a great hunt and you should see a lot of bulls. The bigger bulls are bushed up and largely nocturnal but with hard work, you have an excellent chance at taking a nice bull.

Wilderness Elk:

Our Wilderness Elk Hunts are pack in hunts using our team of mules. The country is rough with a lot of thick brush and deep canyons. This is for serious, experienced elk hunters who are willing and able to hunt hard and hold out. If you are interested in this type of a hunt, please specify so we can get you put in for the correct hunt and unit. All in all, the best time to see and stalk big bulls is the archery hunt as they are beginning their rutting activity.
